The engagement session is truely your first family portrait together.  It also generates the images that become the icons of your wedding.  I think it is important to show who you are as a couple and so here are a few tips on how to do that. 

Location:

The location you choose can say a lot about you.  It shows your tastes and styles.  It may even show activities you enjoy doing together.  A common mistake made by couples is they see portraits they like and they want to copy them.  A good photographer can get great images from any couple in any location.  I think it is better to make it about you, so consider that in choosing your location.  It you would like some help choosing feel free to e-mail us. 

Clothing:

The clothing you choose will say as much about you if not more than the location you choose.  It could be trendy, formal or casual.  Choose the clothing that communicates the feeling you want others to have about you.

Invitations:

I believe there are two reasons to use images in your invitations.  1- to show others what each of you look like. 2- to show your personality as a couple.  The images use in your invitations will become those iconic images your friends and family will love about you. 

If you are interested, we have invitations available that are designed in person with you.  That way you won’t have to worry if someone else chose the same invitation you did.  Your’s will be unique and different.  We would love to show you what we have to offer when you come in for your preview session.  Our invitations range from about $0.50 each to $2.40 each for the most expensive.

Have Fun:

The Last thing to remember is to relax and have fun at the engagement session.  Most of the time the couple didn’t realize that pictures could be so much fun.  When you’re having fun it will show in the pictures.
