2011 Fall Portrait Special

2011 Fall Portrait Special

Season: October – November

fall portrait couponEvery year I have people tell me they want to get family portraits when the fall colors are on.  This year we are looking at the season starting in October and finishing up the first to middle part of November.  Fall colors are beautiful and are a great time to have family portraits taken.  Since the season is so short and there are so many people that want them, you want to act fast to get your time set.

This year we are doing a special off our regular portrait fee.  We are offering 75% off our session fee until November 19th.  That means you will only pay $25 for the session fee.  Our prints are still the same low prices our clients are used to.  We have options available for digital images as well.

The best thing to do is:

  1. Call to set up your appointment
  2. Fill out our Portrait Session Planner
  3. We will call you to help plan and organize your session.

School Picture Special

School Picture Special

You don’t have to spend money on bad school pictures any more!

Every year I hear several people complain about how bad the school pictures are.  This year Masterpiece Images has decided to do something about it.  We have created a special session just for students from pre-school to 11th grade in high school.

discount school picturesThis session is not your typical school portrait session.  It is held at our studio but we are not limited to our studio backdrops.  We can use the flower gardens and the city park as our backdrop.  You also will have 20-30 images to choose between instead of just one.  The best part is each session is only $10 per student.

For the first time Masterpiece Images is offering $15 portrait sheets to go along with the session.  You can choose either 1, 8×10 or 2-5×7′s or 1-5×7 and 4 wallets as a sheet.

This offer is only good until October 28th.  We will be doing these sessions Tues – Friday.

Last Dance

Normally when I photograph a wedding I am photographing happy events.  I love seeing the excitement on the bride and groom’s faces right after they are married.  At that moment life is full of happiness and possibilities.  But, tonight I photographed another emotion – longing.  Tonight’s wedding was a little different because the groom’s mom is dying from cancer.  This isn’t the first time we have photographed a situation like this but every time is full of emotion.

I had been told we needed to take the portraits with the groom’s mom first because she wasn’t going to be feeling well.  She was in a lot of pain but didn’t want to take her medication until after the ceremony was over.

Later that evening the bride and groom had their first dance.  The DJ then announced they would be having the mother/son dance.  As the groom escorted his mom to the dance floor tears began to come to her eyes.  The groom tenderly put his arm around his mom as the music began.  At this point the whole room was in tears as they watched the groom and his mom dance probably for the last time .  They held each other tight and my mind thought of the not to distant future when she will have to leave him for good from this life.   It seemed to me that they were both letting each other know how much they loved each other and how much they were going to miss each other.

Days like today make me think about what I am really doing as a photographer.  I have a huge responsibility to everyday create the most meaningful things in people’s lives.  The best advice my mentor photographer could have ever given me 15 years ago is that you must always do your best because you never know how much the portrait I take today will mean to someone in the future.

I try my best to do just that.

The second reason people put off updating family portraits is because the planning process is so painful.  For most people the pain of not having an updated portrait needs to exceed the pain of planning a new portrait before they finally get it done. Read More→

The biggest reason why people don’t get updated family portraits is scheduling.  It is hard to get everyone’s schedule to coordinate so the whole family can be in one place at the same time.  There are work schedules and school schedules, not to mention the sports and dance schedules. Read More→
