Wedding Tragedy Story

Photography is a tough service to shop for.  You may find that one photographer has an 8×10 print priced for $5 and another photographer priced at $75.  How do you know which one to choose?  Which is the best value?  That is a hard question to answer.  This is a story from one of our family portrait clients that may help you know what is happening with photography.

One of our client’s now daughter-in-law decided to hire her brother to photograph their wedding.  After the engagement session, the daughter-in-law decided her brother wasn’t good enough to do the wedding and so she fired him.  Our client, who was the mother of the groom, suggested to use Masterpiece Images.  The daughter-in-law told her “your style isn’t my style” and hired another person to do the wedding.

This photographer took the bridals and had two photographers on the wedding day.  The mother of the groom reported to us that none of the bridals looked good and from two photographers only 50 total images were delivered from the wedding day.  Apparently one of the photographers didn’t have anything turn out that could be shown to the client and the other one only had 50 images.  This package cost them over $1000 and the photographer gave them back $100 to make up for the mistake.

I share this story to let you know some of the bad mistakes people are making with their wedding photography.  There are good photographers out there but you do need to be extremely careful when choosing so you don’t end up regretting your decision.  If anyone has questions about what to look for we would be happy to give unbiased information.

Reason for the Season Portraits

Every year we offer 3 free children’s sessions: Halloween costumes, Christmas and Easter.  For those of you who have been waiting for our Christmas session we have finally set the dates and times.  Each child will receive a free 5×7 and there is no obligation nor pressure to make additional purchases.

We wanted to do something special this year and we wanted to involve Santa Clause.  We have invited Santa Clause to our studio on December 14th and December 20th but these portraits will not be like the typical “mall Santa”.  We have decided to put Santa in a Nativity scene.  I have noticed that most people are concerned about the commercialization of Christmas so we wanted to do something to bring back the real meaning of Christmas.

Due to the limited time slots we have we would like you to call and make an appointment so we can fit everyone in.  You can call us at 801-612-9799 to set up an appointment or fill out the form below and we will contact you.  Pictures can be taken with Santa without the Nativity if desired.

It is that time of year for our Halloween special.  Last year we had our haunted graveyard.  This year we decided to change it up and do a pumpkin patch.

Bring in all your children and have their picture taken in their costume for free.  You also get a free 5×7.  Make sure you tell all of your families and friends as well.

It is a busy time of year so make sure you call and set up an appointment before you come in.

2011 Fall Portrait Special

2011 Fall Portrait Special

Season: October – November

fall portrait couponEvery year I have people tell me they want to get family portraits when the fall colors are on.  This year we are looking at the season starting in October and finishing up the first to middle part of November.  Fall colors are beautiful and are a great time to have family portraits taken.  Since the season is so short and there are so many people that want them, you want to act fast to get your time set.

This year we are doing a special off our regular portrait fee.  We are offering 75% off our session fee until November 19th.  That means you will only pay $25 for the session fee.  Our prints are still the same low prices our clients are used to.  We have options available for digital images as well.

The best thing to do is:

  1. Call to set up your appointment
  2. Fill out our Portrait Session Planner
  3. We will call you to help plan and organize your session.
